The Big Hospitality Expo & Low2NoBev 2022
September 2022, saw the return of The Big Hospitality Expo at London’s Olympia venue along with the Low2NoBev trade show. In this article, I will review a selection of the best non-alcoholic drinks showcased at Low2NoBev. In recent years, technological development of yeast strains and new production techniques have led to many new interesting non/low-alcohol drinks being launched. Here are a few products that I enjoyed:
Intoducing BOLLE wines. Roberto Vanin founder of Juicy River Ltd, created the BOLLE brand, and uses his trade-marked ‘Zero Gradi’ technology. BOLLE sparkling non-alcholic drinks are available in Oro and Rosa styles
NOUGHTY, a range of alcohol-free organic sparkling wines, from Thomson and Scott.
CHAVIN wines, from Maison Chavin, Béziers France, is a company founded by Mathilde Boulachin. Maison Chavin produce a wide range of wines in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic styles. Le Petit Étoilé is a new range of organic non-fermented non-alcoholic wine. Chavin’s Le Petit Étoilé Chardonnay was exceptional both in flavour and quality.
Citizen Spritz, a low-sugar, non-alcoholic spritz-style drink from co-founders Mark Gould and Mike Bagshaw.
REBELS 0.0%, a Swiss-based company producing a range of double distilled alcohol-free spirit alternatives. Of special note, REBELS Spritz Alternative was truly amazing.
WHIITEFALLOW, a Glasgow-based producer, provided an interesting range and display of spirit alternative drinks.
TiCKET, a UK-based company have produced a saffron infused non-alcoholic pale ale beer – a healthier style of drink. An interesting take on a traditional pale ale.
Amongst other producers of note, I especially liked Nirvana Lager alcohol-free from the Nirvana Brewery, London. Finally, Bemuse provided an interesting flavour-range of refeshing, non-alcoholic, mead-based drinks.
